The 2015 Summer Universiade, the XXVIII Summer Universiade, is scheduled for Gwangju, South Korea.

Bid selection

The cities of Edmonton, Canada; Taiwan, Republic of China; and Gwangju, South Korea were in contention for the Games. On May 23, 2009, FISU awarded the hosting rights to Gwangju^[1]. Gwangju was an unsuccessful bidder for the 2013 games.
